Southern Cross Station Development

Australia

Project Overview

Located towards the western end of Melbourne’s business district, Spencer Street Station (renamed Southern Cross Station) is a distinctive landmark in the Melbourne CBD. The significance of the project was reflected in the function of the station as the hub of the state’s regional railway network.

This project involved the redevelopment of the existing station whilst remaining fully operational.

TBH’s Role

TBH was involved in the construction stage of the Southern Cross Station Development project, providing regular updates to the construction programme and supporting the preparation of regular progress reports for Leighton.

TBH maintained a continuous site presence throughout the tenure of the project. This strengthened the visibility of progress for the contractor and ultimately assisted Leighton to deliver the project whilst keeping the Southern Cross station operational. In addition to this programming service, TBH also provided expert extension of time advice in relation to various delays that occurred.
