Project Overview

Sydney Water recently allocated over $2.5 billion to the delivery of an Infrastructure Capital Portfolio. As the country’s largest water and wastewater service provider, Sydney Water also contributes billions of dollars to the Australian economy through the provision of enabling works to developers, authorities and major infrastructure projects. In return, these activities generate significant revenue for both Sydney Water and the State Government.

 

The purpose of this engagement was to assess the scheduling maturity across the organisation and define and document Sydney Water’s scheduling capability strategy across the financial portfolios of Infrastructure Capital, Growth Planning and Development and Development Partnerships.

 

TBH’s Role

The TBH team worked collaboratively with Sydney Water to define and document a scheduling capability. The scope of the engagement included:

  • Improve the organisational understanding and benefits of enterprise scheduling
  • Document the scheduling capability strategy
  • Document a change management and communications plan
  • Develop and implementation roadmap

 

Benefits included:

  • Current scheduling maturity levels were assessed and rated.
  • A practical fit for purpose end state was defined and documented.
  • A gap analysis was conducted.
  • A strategy was document was provided.
  • Recommendations were provided supported by a road map which detailed a phased implementation process.
  • Key success factors were identified for each phase along with go/no-go gates.
  • A change and communications management plan were provided to support the roll out of the strategy with the emphasis on stakeholder engagement, executive sponsorship and demonstrating value.
