New Children’s Hospital

Australia

Project Overview

The New Children’s Hospital is situated next to Winthrop Avenue overlooking Kings Park on the QEII site in Nedlands. It will replace the Princess Margaret Hospital in Subiaco, with all clinical services relocating to the new 250 bed hospital.

This project formed part of the greater QEII Medical Centre Redevelopment which involves the construction of several buildings and associated support infrastructure.

TBH’s Role

TBH was engaged by John Holland to develop the master programme and provide advice on the procurement strategy for John Holland’s tender submission. The master programme detailed all of the Stage 2 managing contractor project delivery phases including design, procurement, GMP agreement, early works, Stage 2 award, construction, commissioning, handover and transitioning.

During the construction phase TBH was engaged to conduct monthly independent statuses on the project and provide a report highlighting:

  • Risks and suggested mitigation
  • Opportunities and how to take advantage of them

TBH was subsequently asked to provide a full-time resource, which was seconded into the project team to provide contract administration support.
