SEA 5000 – Future Frigate Program
Australia

Project Overview

SEA 5000 Phase 1 will provide nine frigates optimised for anti-submarine warfare to replace the Anzac Class frigates. They will be assembled at the new shipyard at Osborne in South Australia which is currently under construction, and will be known in service as the Hunter class frigates. In June 2018 the Australian Government announced BAE Systems was selected as the preferred tenderer to deliver the nine frigates to the Royal Australian Navy. Combat Systems integration partners Lockheed Martin Australia and SAAB Australia have partnered with BAE Systems Australia to deliver the Combat System Integration on the frigates.
