Project Overview
Transgrid appointed TBH as Superintendent’s Representative for the remainder of contract 1348. Contract 1348 covered the construction of a Transgrid administration facility in Yass, NSW. These works fell outside Transgrid’s usual areas of experience and included the refurbishment and new addition to the existing circa 1967’s administration building and the complete demolition of the amenities and control buildings at the Transgrid substation complex, Perry Street, Yass NSW.
TBH’s Role
TBH was appointed as an independent superintendent’s representative responsible for all matters relating to administration, supervision and management of the site under the general conditions of contract, resolving a range of conflicts between the parties and ensuring project success.
TBH’s responsibilities included:
- Issuing directions to the contractor
- Approving construction status programme
- Co-ordinating the design team dealing with contractor queries and requests for information
- Administering variations, extensions of time and delay costs, liquidated damages and certification requirements
