Bayswater Station Upgrade and Turnback

Australia

Project Overview

The Bayswater Station upgrade project being undertaken by the Public Transport Authority (PTA) is proposed to serve as a significant interchange station providing connections to the Forrestfield Airport Link (FAL) and the Morley Ellenbrook Line (MEL) via the realignment of the existing Perth-Midland Line. Two proponents Better Bayswater Alliance (Georgiou Group and Lendlease) and Evolve Bayswater Alliance (Coleman Rail and Decmil) were shortlisted by PTA to progress to the competitive bid phase before the contract award.

TBH’s Role

TBH was engaged by Lendlease during the tendering process to provide planning and scheduling services, and to work in collaboration with Lendlease-Georgiou alliance’s tendering team to prepare an integrated design and construction programme detailing each phase of works. The role and specific duties performed by TBH are as follows:

  • Preparation of a resource loaded integrated design, procurement and construction programme capturing all works associated with the project for tender submission;
  • Preparation of alternative programmes to demonstrate the potential time & cost benefits associated with alternative execution strategies; and
  • Facilitating a number of stakeholder meetings and workshops in collaboration with Lendlease-Georgiou alliance’s tendering team.

The TBH Difference

TBH was able to understand the construction methodology adopted by the alliance through integrating with the tendering team and conveying this accurately within the programme to demonstrate the projects constructability.
