{"id":1319,"date":"2019-08-07T19:10:34","date_gmt":"2019-08-07T08:10:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tbhconsultancy.com\/sg\/experience\/digital-train-radio-system-2\/"},"modified":"2020-11-22T17:22:09","modified_gmt":"2020-11-22T06:22:09","slug":"digital-train-radio-system","status":"publish","type":"cpt-project","link":"https:\/\/tbhconsultancy.com\/sg\/experience\/digital-train-radio-system\/","title":{"rendered":"Digital Train Radio System"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Project Overview<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>UGL were tasked with providing a Digital Train Radio System (DTRS) across the greater Sydney train network, covering areas between Newcastle, Kiama, Lithgow and Campbelltown.<\/p>\n<p>The project was based on the GSM-R standard, and involved implementing some 255 base stations, 66km of installation of leaky feeder antenna in rail tunnels, switching centres at Central and Homebush, and installation of radio equipment in 400-500 passenger trains.<\/p>\n<p>The project was undertaken in the live environment of an operating metropolitan train system. As such, a heavy focus on system integration of the new technology into the existing system was a key factor for success.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>TBH\u2019s Role<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>TBH provided planning and programming services for the project, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Conversion of UGL\u2019s partially completed programme from MS Project to Primavera P6<\/li>\n<li>Development of an accurate and maintainable integrated design, procurement, construction\/ installation and commissioning programme<\/li>\n<li>Resource and cost loading of the programme (including design and construction resources)<\/li>\n<li>Establishment of a baseline programme for performance measurement<\/li>\n<li>Ongoing management of the programme and reporting<\/li>\n<li>Establishment of a reporting system to provide programme visibility to both United Group and the customer<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To find out more about TBH\u2019s Planning &amp; Scheduling experience, please visit the <a href=\"https:\/\/tbhconsultancy.com\/services\/programming-scheduling-advisory\/\">Planning &amp; Scheduling<\/a> page.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Project Overview UGL were tasked with providing a Digital Train Radio System (DTRS) across the greater Sydney train network, covering areas between Newcastle, Kiama, Lithgow and Campbelltown.
