Project Overview<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ausnet is Australia\u2019s overseas TV network broadcasting to the Pacific, Asia and India. After a tender process the Federal Government awarded the operation of Ausnet to ABC.<\/p>\n

The project involved the following:
\n\u2022 Preparation and signoff of a business case and PMP without which no commitments could be made
\n\u2022 Procurement of equipment both locally and mostly from overseas by both ABC and MHA
\n\u2022 Investigation and design of the technical Fitout
\n\u2022 Relocation of a computer system and database from Newcastle to Sydney
\n\u2022 Installation and commissioning of equipment at MHA by both MHA and ABC
\n\u2022 Procurement of Telstra lines between Melbourne and MHA and Ultimo and MHA
\n\u2022 Procurement of a new satellite uplink
\n\u2022 Organisation of subtitles including production overseas
\n\u2022 Preparation of workflows and dot point procedures for Ausnet, ABC and MHA
\n\u2022 Recruitment and training
\n\u2022 Equipment and systems debugging
\n\u2022 Operation of white channel (full production in practice mode for two weeks)
\n\u2022 Cutover from NBN to ABC\/MHA<\/p>\n

TBH’s Role<\/strong><\/p>\n

TBH was engaged to undertake the project management of this project in a very short period. This included:<\/p>\n

\u2022 Preparation of the business plan and procurement of its approval to allow the project to proceed
\n\u2022 Preparation of a project plan, including schedule and budget and risk identification
\n\u2022 Management of procurement of overseas and local equipment
\n\u2022 Management of the design process
\n\u2022 Management of the procurement of Telstra landlines and Optus satellite uplink
\n\u2022 Co-ordination of ABC and MediaHub and Ausnet activities
\n\u2022 Management of technical fitout and installation process
\n\u2022 Management of the procurement of subtitles
\n\u2022 Management of commissioning process
\n\u2022 Management of the White Channel Process and Issues
\n\u2022 Time cost and risk management
\n\u2022 Project reporting<\/p>\n
