GE\u2019s PowerOn Fusion was the DMS selected for the trial.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">The DMS is a key capability enabler, addresses the monitoring and management requirements of Ausgrid\u2019s highly<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">complex power distribution system and integrates with Ausgrid\u2019s Outage Management System (OMS), SCADA<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">environment, operator switching functions and drives the architecture and process design for future technologies.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">The first phase of the project was the simulation phase which:<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"none\"> Assessed the new DMS system\u2019s DMS, SCADA and other capabilities<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"none\"> Assessed the functional compliance with Ausgrid\u2019s design requirements<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"none\"> Assessed the capability to integrate with Ausgrid\u2019s target OTE architecture<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"none\"> Assessed the ability to integrate with Ausgrid\u2019s OMS system<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"none\"> Assessed the alignment between Ausgrid processes and vendor use cases<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"none\"> Enabled understanding of the scope of any customisation required<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"none\"> Developed the overall usability index of the new DMS system<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"none\"> Defined scope, schedule and implementation methodology for second phase of the project<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>TBH\u2019s Role<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">TBH was engaged to an extensive provide project management office (PMO) service, which included the following:<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"none\"> Establishment of integrated project controls throughout the program<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"none\"> Planning and scheduling<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"none\"> Cost reporting<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"none\"> Change management<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"none\"> Risk and issues management<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"none\"> Vendor liaison<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"none\"> Creating a deliverables traceability matrix, and monitor the project work accordingly<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"none\"> Schedule trend analysis and future trend reporting<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"none\"> Project closure<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To find out more about TBH\u2019s Cost Management experience, please visit the <a href=\"https:\/\/tbhconsultancy.com\/services\/cost-management\/\">Cost Management<\/a> page.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Project Overview The Distributed Network Management System (DNMS) replacement project was Ausgrid\u2019s strategic initiative\u00a0to replace its existing DNMS with a new advanced Distributed Management System (DMS) that modernises the\u00a0operational capability of the organisation.
