The RHP is situated 115km north of Newman, Western Australia<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">and is a world class iron ore deposit. The project has a defined mineralisation of more than 2.4 billion tonnes of +55%<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">Fe iron ore, with Roy Hill planning to load its first shipment of ore for export in 2015.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">The processing plant for the RHP will utilise low risk, proven technology and will be the largest single feed processing<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">plant in the region. The independently owned and operated 344km single line, heavy haul Roy Hill railway will be<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">constructed to transport the processed iron ore from the Roy Hill mine to a dedicated port stockyard facility south of<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">Port Hedland. Roy Hill\u2019s\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">purpose-built<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0iron ore port facility at Port Hedland will be constructed to receive, stockpile,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">screen and export 55Mtpa of direct shipped iron ore as lump and fines.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">For the majority of the project, Roy Hill has selected an engineering, procurement and<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">construction (EPC) contract<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">delivery model. Works are phased to match funding.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">The major EPC contract package comprises:<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"none\"> Mine Plant: Consisting of the mine process plant, mine materials handling including stockyard, reclamation and train<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0loading<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"none\"> Rail: Consisting of rail and rail sidings, marshalling yards, maintenance facilities and amenities<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"none\"> Port: Consisting of both port landside, marine and includes rail formation works<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">Supporting the EPC contract package is a range of long-lead principal supplied items and associated infrastructure<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">work packages.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">Roy Hill\u2019s project delivery is supported by a project management consultant (PMC) approach. First fulfilled by Worley<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">Parsons through the early design and contract formation phases, then by Parsons Brinckerhoff<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>TBH\u2019s Role<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">TBH was contracted to:<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"none\"> Review project delivery governance and work with the PMC to refine, develop and implement governance by<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">way of management and control plans and procedures to ensure project control and management<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"none\"> Prepare the integrated Roy Hill and PMC organisations for EPC readiness, aligning processes and procedures to the<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0EPC contract and its conditions to ensure contract compliance<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">Areas of focus may be grouped as contracts management, project controls, change management and integration<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">management. TBH ran over 18 workshops and conducted many interviews to ensure a high level of collaboration and<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">engagement. This included:<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"none\"> Steering committee meetings, formal presentations, facilitated squad checks and training sessions.
