{"id":1355,"date":"2019-08-05T17:27:46","date_gmt":"2019-08-05T06:27:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tbhconsultancy.com\/sg\/experience\/christmas-creek-plant-optimisation-programme-2\/"},"modified":"2025-11-07T12:51:50","modified_gmt":"2025-11-07T01:51:50","slug":"christmas-creek-plant-optimisation-programme","status":"publish","type":"cpt-project","link":"https:\/\/tbhconsultancy.com\/sg\/experience\/christmas-creek-plant-optimisation-programme\/","title":{"rendered":"Christmas Creek Plant Optimisation Programme"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Project Overview<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">To increase the output capacity and safety of its Ore Processing Facilities (OPF) at their Christmas Creek mine site<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">in the Pilbara, FMG initiated a series of capital improvement works to improve the plant&#8217;s<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0capacity and safety record.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">This involved the establishment of an engineering projects delivery (EPD) team to design, procure and implement<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">the most cost effective and time efficient solutions.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">The EPD team were responsible for over 100 improvement projects across the project.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>TBH\u2019s Role<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">TBH was contracted by the PPM to provide project management support to the EPD team and its projects. TBH was<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">engaged to provide the following:<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"none\"> Developed a master schedule for the EPD team\u2019s portfolio of projects, providing a prioritization of all works<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"none\"> Individual schedule development for the lifecycle of each project, including details for the projects scoping works,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">engineering and procurement requirements and delivery and commissioning activities<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"none\"> Weekly statusing for the schedules<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"none\"> Development of a suite of weekly automated project dashboards to be presented to senior management highlighting<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">weekly progress and forecast completion milestones<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"none\"> Development of a monthly progress report for the EPD team<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"none\"> Development of detailed implementation schedules for on-site works over plant shutdown periods<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"none\"> Planning, scheduling and co-ordination of EPD on site work, including tracking of procurement and fabrication works<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"none\"> Management and tracking of planned and actual costs for each project<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"none\"> Facilitating and tracking procurement items required for each project<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"none\"> Strategic management of future capital expenditure costs<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"none\"> Overall cost control for the project team including capital expenditure requests, cost tracking and invoicing<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">TBH enabled the effective streamlining of the EPD teams site works. This provided the project with a single source<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">of information, highlighting areas of importance which limited inefficiencies and allowing senior management to<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">make informed decisions.
