{"id":3297,"date":"2020-03-17T10:44:50","date_gmt":"2020-03-16T23:44:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tbh.toniconline.com.au\/sg\/experience\/global-switch-hong-kong-data-centre\/"},"modified":"2025-11-14T10:17:51","modified_gmt":"2025-11-13T23:17:51","slug":"global-switch-hong-kong-data-centre","status":"publish","type":"cpt-project","link":"https:\/\/tbhconsultancy.com\/sg\/experience\/global-switch-hong-kong-data-centre\/","title":{"rendered":"Global Switch Hong Kong Data Centre"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Project Overview<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Global Switch, one of the world\u2019s largest data centre operators, was building an environmentally sustainable data centre in Tseung Kwan O, Hong Kong.<\/p>\n<p>The new data centre comprised of five buildings, with a total of 45,000m2 of floor space to store servers and cooling systems, providing an output of 100MW IT Capacity.<\/p>\n<p>The buildings will incorporate some of the industry\u2019s latest design features, providing best-in-class technical solutions with a focus on resiliency.<\/p>\n<p>Offering a range of cloud, colocation and managed services in a low-risk operational environment, Global Switch Hong Kong has high redundancy utility power supply capacity to service the needs of major global clients.<\/p>\n<p>Global Switch employed a main contractor to construct the data centre, with construction commencing in 2019.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>TBH\u2019s Role<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>TBH was engaged by Global Switch Hong Kong to undertake the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Assessment of the Main Contractor\u2019s contract programme;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">&#8211; Review programme structure including logic and testing for concurrency;<br \/>\n&#8211; Independently assess the achievability of the forecast data against contractual obligations;<br \/>\n&#8211; Highlight key opportunities to mitigate programme risks or otherwise improve the proposed approach to delivery;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Explore and develop a \u2018client\u2019s programme\u2019 based on the Contractor\u2019s Master programme and on-site progress<br \/>\nto enable the client to better manage the contractor derisk commercial exposure.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>The TBH Difference\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>TBH helped provide clear visibility on the project timeline, identified risks and provided recommendations to mitigate issues, which enabled a smarter and lower risk means of completing the project.<\/p>\n<p>The project was ultimately delivered successfully with both the client and contractor benefiting from a clear and achievable roadmap for delivery and clarity regarding interface points.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Project Overview Global Switch, one of the world\u2019s largest data centre operators, was building an environmentally sustainable data centre in Tseung Kwan O, Hong Kong.
