In this role, Jonathan will be responsible for developing strategies that will drive the business\u2019 long-term growth, including helping navigate how our Australian, Asian and Middle Eastern businesses can best support the public and private sector during their post-COVID economic recoveries.<\/p>\n<p>With over 20 years\u2019 experience as a planner, PMO and project controls specialist, Jonathan has worked on major infrastructure and utilities projects in both the United Kingdom and Australia. A Director at TBH since 2011, Jonathan was instrumental in establishing our Perth office and led the growth of TBH\u2019s Integrated Project Controls service. Recent career highlights include Western Sydney Airport, Sydney Metro, WestConnex, the 3 Dams projects and the East Coast Grid Interconnectors.<\/p>\n<p>Jonathan said, \u201cWith all of the spend driving the world\u2019s post-pandemic economic recovery, projects have become more and more complex, are under greater scrutiny and are higher risk. And that\u2019s where TBH\u2019s 56 years\u2019 international experience comes into play.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As Australia finds its way towards the new normal \u2013 largely funded by over $200 billion of government spending in infrastructure \u2013 Jonathan continued, \u201cTBH\u2019s critical support functions of time, cost and risk management will remain invaluable to the successful delivery of these projects, programs, and portfolios.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In response to growing geopolitical uncertainty in the region, Government is funneling another $270 billion into the Defence Sector. Jonathan adds, \u201cEarned Value Management (EVM) is one of the key methods Defence uses to manage projects. EVM is at the heart of our controls service \u2013 our staff are security cleared, understand how Defence works and can bring learnings from other industries to compliment and improve outcomes. Our very first project in 1965 was a Defence project, and since then we have continued to be engaged by Defence, primes and sub-contractors to support the delivery of this capability for Australia.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Some of the greatest growth opportunities for TBH currently lie in Asia and the Middle East &#8211; regions in which TBH has had a presence in since 2008 and 2010, respectively. Jonathan said, \u201cCOVID has accelerated the movement towards a global digital economy and some simple enablers of that are data and distribution centers. We have also seen massive investment in pharmaceutical R&amp;D as countries strive to develop sovereign vaccine capability.
