Project Overview
Seqwater undertook a strategic initiative to implement a portfolio and program model for efficient planning and delivery of the large number of Capital projects within the Sustaining Capital portfolio. The projects ranged from civil, mechanical and electrical upgrades to a range of assets from water treatment plants, distribution networks, storage tanks, pump stations, to power upgrades, and catchment management projects, spread across Southeast Queensland. This required transformation of the existing PMO from a purely support function to oversee and manage delivery of the programs
TBH’s Role
TBH was engaged over multiple engagements to support development and operationalisation of the PMO, and support transition from project to a program model for delivering the Sustaining Capital Portfolio.
This was done through:
- Maturity Assessment of the PMO function
- Design Hub-Spoke model Enterprise-Group PMO
- Develop and Implement PMO tools, templates, processes
- Develop and implement Governance framework aligned to the gateway process
- Support monthly reporting to executives and board
- Project Review and Assurance for Projects >$5m
- Programming of 600+ projects into Programs of works for efficiency in development and delivery
