Project Overview

When complete, the Natural History Museum Abu Dhabi, located in the Saadiyat Cultural District, will cover an area of over 35,000 sqm and is anticipated to be the largest of its kind in the region.

The museum, which joins a global community of natural history museums, will take visitors on a 14-billion-year journey through time and space.

TBH’s Role

ALEC appointed TBH to develop the baseline programme covering all project stages from engineering and procurement through to construction and commissioning.

TBH’s scope included the development of a detailed construction methodology that accurately reflected the project’s execution strategy. The team identified a robust Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) to ensure that all deliverables and activities were clearly defined and logically sequenced.

Building on this framework, TBH prepared a fully integrated construction programme, with activity durations established through analysis of productivity rates, work volumes, and the adopted construction methodology. To ensure programme reliability and transparency, TBH also performed a critical path analysis, providing ALEC with clear visibility of the key drivers influencing project completion.

The TBH Difference

TBH’s structured approach ensured the baseline programme reflected ALEC’s construction methodology and effectively communicated it to the end client (the project developer), which was a key factor in securing formal approval. By combining technical precision with practical construction methodologies, TBH provided ALEC with complete visibility and control over the project. This clarity empowered the team to manage works efficiently, make informed decisions, and deliver with confidence.
