Humelink is currently valued at $3.3 billion and will allow connection to Snowy 2.0 pumped hydro storage project and will increase the amount of green energy that can be delivered across the national electricity grid, helping to transition Australia to a low carbon future. It is expected to be delivered by July 2026.
TBH’s Role
TBH was engaged whilst Transgrid was preparing Part 1 of their Contingent Project Application to the AER to provide project planning, risk, and cost control support. Since 2021, TBH has provided the following services:
- Planning & Scheduling: Developed and managed the Integrated Master Schedule in P6, performed Contractor programme reviews and provided input during Contractor ECI and award stages, productivity and resource planning, and monthly progress reporting and earned value development.
- Cost Control: Development and management of Cost Management System in Excel/Power Bi, development of Cost Breakdown Structure across all project phases regular tracking of transactions for the Project, accruals management, and monthly reporting on cashflows.
- Risk: Conducted regular quantitative schedule and cost risk analysis (QSRA and QCRA.
The TBH Difference
TBH was brought onto the Humelink Project to provide scheduling, risk and cost control expertise whilst the Project and Project Controls Team was in its infancy. In its time, TBH has developed the Humelink Master Schedule and Cost Control process, collaborating closely with various Project Teams to ensure accurate and timely reporting on project progress and financials on a monthly basis and allowing the Project to remain on-track to construct the Project within its intended timeframes. TBH regularly conducted quantitative schedule and cost risk analysis to confirm the Project would be achieved within its intended timeframes and budget.
TBH was also heavily involved in the ECI process with the preferred tenderers, where our advice was crucial in ensuring that the Tender Programme sequences for construction, energisation, testing & commissioning was achievable against Project timeframes and aligned with Transgrid’s scope of works.
