Project Overview
The Roy Hill Project is located approximately 277 kilometres south west of Port Hedland and is at the eastern end of Chichester Range in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. The rail, mine processing plant and port facilities are designed to produce 55 million tonnes per annum. The operations consisted of:
- Conventional open pit, bulk mining operation from multiple production benches;
- 55Mtpa wet processing plant;
- 344-kilometre single line, heavy haul railway; and
- Purpose built, dedicated two berth iron ore port facility at Port Hedland, capable of receiving, stockpiling, screening and exporting 55Mtpa (wet) of direct shipped iron ore as lump and fines.
TBH’s Role
TBH was requested to independently review, analyse and assess BGC’s progress of works and provide an Expert Report detailing its opinions in relation to BGC’s entitlement to an EOT and associated delay & disruption costs.

Using highly specialised techniques that TBH has developed over 5 decades, TBH performed an in-depth analysis of the BGC’s contemporaneous records which resulted in TBH successfully demonstrating delay to the Critical Path of the project and associated delay and disruption costs incurred by BGC.
