Australian Hyperscale and Wholesale Data Centre Platform Provider

Project Overview

Since 2017, TBH has closely worked with an Australian hyper-scale and wholesale data centre platform provider that caters to cloud, content, and large enterprise customers. We have assisted the Client’s financiers on 10 data centres with a total capacity of over 400MW and a cumulative project cost value of approximately USD 4.3 billion. These projects have been successfully delivered in various locations, including Singapore, Malaysia, Japan, and Australia.

TBH’s Role

TBH was hired multiple times as the Lenders’ Technical Advisor (LTA) to provide independent technical due diligence reports to help secure project debt. The work included preparing a Preliminary Technical Assessment Report to identify high-risk items and assess project feasibility in the early stages.

The next phase involved preparing a detailed LTA Report to provide full project exposure to the lenders and equity parties as required.

The third phase of the Project occurs during the construction phase, and TBH, as the Financiers Independent Engineer (FIE), monitors progress and reports and advises the Lenders. As part of its role, TBH identifies any significant concerns following a review of the key project details, including:

• Site parameters and conditions
• Review of construction timeframe and methodology
• Experience and capabilities of the key project participants
• Project budget, validation via internal benchmarking data
• Assessment of the financial model and preparation of a drawdown schedule for the lenders
• Review of risks associated with construction completion of the data centre
• Technical review of contract documentation
• Assessment of expansion capacity feasibility
