Project Overview
The Seaford Rail Extension is a 6km $291 million extension to the existing rail network south of Adelaide. The Seaford Rail Extension project included the provision of dual track, two stations and a 1.2km elevated bridge over the Onkaparinga Valley, which was designed to become the third largest incrementally launched bridge in the world.
The expansion was envisaged to service the rapidly expanding south and provide increased access to public transport. The project was also vital in the delivery of the overall network electrification with it being the location to be electrified and also receiving and testing new rolling stock.
TBH’s Role
TBH was engaged by the Department of Transport, Energy and Infrastructure during the tender phase of the project and TBH was then invited to partner on the project execution to provide independent and strategic Project Programming and Scheduling advice.
TBH’s scope of services included the analysis of the contractor’s program, and the independent monitoring and analysis of the progress of the works. Particular emphasis was placed on risk identification and management.
TBH also provided claims analysis services on behalf of the Government.
