Project Overview
The Campbelltown Hospital Stage 2 redevelopment was a $632 million expansion that included a new 12-story clinical services building, an expanded emergency department, new women’s health services (including birthing suites and a maternity ward), increased paediatric services, and a new mental health unit. The project also involved refurbishing existing facilities and expanding areas for support services like the renal department and medical administration.
The precinct upgrades also included the construction of a new Multi-Storey Carpark, the refurbishment of Pathology Building, the expansion of the Cancer Theatre Centre and decanting and refurbishment of existing Hospital buildings.
TBH’s Role
TBH was originally engaged by Health Infrastructure in 2018 to develop a detailed multi-stage Master Programme which forecast and co-ordinate the interface of the multiple stages of this major health precinct upgrade.
Following this initial engagement TBH has also assisted the project with planning and scheduling support on the programme which included contract establishment & provision of commercial advice, decanting and staging advice, provision of technical programming & delivery advice, reviewing and assessing Contractor claims and providing overall delivery phase progress monitoring and reporting.
In addition to the support TBH provided to the delivery works, we were also engaged by the Local Health District in the planning for the operational readiness, decant and relocation to the new Clinical Services Building, ensuring a smooth transition from construction to operational phases of the works on the busy functioning hospital campus.
