Nepean Hospital Redevelopment – Stage 2

Project Overview

The Nepean Hospital Stage 2 redevelopment included a new, 7-storey clinical services tower as part of the overall $576 million precinct upgrade. This new tower includes a new intensive care unit, medical imaging and molecular imaging services, a renal dialysis unit, a new pediatric unit, and a new main entrance. The project also features state-of-the-art education and training facilities.

A multi stage decanting and enabling works process was required to enable the Stage 2 redevelopment site to become available for construction.

Project completion is currently anticipated in late 2026 and an opening in early 2027.

This phase of the project is the second stage of the overall Nepean campus expansion that TBH has been involved on since 2016.

TBH’s Role

Following on from our role on Stage 1 of this redevelopment, TBH was re-engaged to continue to provide programming support services for Health Infrastructure and the project management team.

As part of this role TBH has developed an overall project Master Programme that aligns and tracks the multiple different enabling projects on the campus, including co-ordination, planning and tracking of multiple different Contractors. Maintaining the functional operations of the health district, following the opening of the Stage 1 redevelopment while delivering multiple separate construction Contracts was a key challenge of the initial role.

TBH has also been involved in the review and assessment of Contractor programmes, provision of general and commercial programming advice and overall monitoring & reporting of the multiple different projects progress.
