Student Precinct Program Development – Parkville

Australia

Project Overview

The Student Precinct project is intended to transform student experience at the University of Melbourne’s Parkville campus, setting a new benchmark for excellence in campus-based student amenity and design.

The project includes the redevelopment and refurbishment of nine existing buildings. The purpose of the project is to consolidate central student-facing services delivered by University of Melbourne and those delivered by its student organisations.

The project included the refurbishment of the food and retail areas, end-of-trip facilities, arts & cultural facilities, informal study and library spaces.

TBH’s Role

Donald Cant Watts Corke Pty Limited (DCWC) requested TBH to develop a tender programme, high level timeline and staging diagrams for tender submission.

TBH programmes and staging diagrams assisted DCWC to be successful in the tender submission.

After the tender process, DCWC requested TBH to prepare a detailed Master Programme based on the preliminary Concept Design for the purposes of reporting to the University of Melbourne.

TBH’s planning and scheduling service helped DCWC to successfully:

  • Identify major stages of construction as well as overall critical path
  • Communicate key dates and interfaces to various stakeholders
  • Highlight key issues, risks and opportunities
