TBH Announces New Defence Practice Leadership Appointments

Sydney, Australia – [03 Nov 2025] – TBH, trusted advisors to the public and private sector since 1965, today announced new senior appointments to its dedicated Defence practice, signalling the firm’s continued commitment to supporting the Australian defence sector.

The new practice will be led by industry veteran Peter La Franchi, who has been appointed as National Defence Director. Amy Taumoefolau joins the team as Defence Principal for New South Wales.

“These leadership appointments to our Defence practice represents a natural evolution of TBH’s commitment to delivering independent, objective and innovative professional services to critical sectors,” says Jonathan Jacobs, TBH’s Managing Director. “Peter’s extensive industry experience and Amy’s expertise will be invaluable as we build enhanced capability to serve the unique needs of Defence and defence industry clients across Australia.”

With 35 years of experience in the Australian and international defence sector, Peter La Franchi brings deep industry knowledge and relationships to his role as National Defence Director. He has previously held senior roles with Nova Systems, Airbus Australia Pacific, Boeing Defence Australia and MDA Corporation of Canada.

“Peter’s appointment underscores TBH’s commitment to providing the highest level of expertise to defence sector clients. He brings an in-depth understanding of technology, capability processes, Defence operational needs and the structure of the Australian defence industrial base,” said Jacobs.

Amy Taumoefolau’s appointment as Defence Principal for New South Wales strengthens TBH’s East-coast capability and ensures clients have access to senior expertise in what is one of Australia’s most significant defence market focus areas.

“Amy brings in deep knowledge of the Department of Defence’s acquisition and procurement systems from a variety of roles working with that organisation over the past decade,” said Jacobs. “Her experience includes working in naval shipbuilding and sustainment, and joint capabilities procurement programs.”

“TBH’s first ever project was to support the United States Navy in developing the Harold E. Holt Naval Communications Station at North West Cape,” said Jacobs. “TBH’s strengthened Defence practice announced today, leverages the company’s 60-year reputation for practical, professional services while developing specialised capabilities for defence clients.”

TBH will this week be making a series of announcements of new capabilities and services for the sector at the IndoPacific 2025 trade show in Sydney.

These new appointments join TBH’s existing Defence leads including Travis Harvey, Ben Atkin, Moataz Mahmoud, Callum Agnew, Judith Irvine, Belinda Hau and Paul Schwarz.
